Grace is from China and has lived in Singapore with her family since 2015. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts from Beijing Language and Culture University, and a Diploma in Teaching Chinese Language from Confucius Institute, NTU. She also has a Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Confucius Institute and a Certificate of Teaching in Mandarin Speech & Drama from the Julia Gabriel Foundation.
Her objective as a Mandarin teacher is to inspire and motivate students and to create a stimulating and caring educational environment for every student. She believes that her enthusiastic, cultural-technological approach to teaching helps students to better acquire language skills.
Grace’s own experience of learning foreign languages has broadened her horizon and helped her feel connected with other cultures. Having taught in France as well, Grace finds a sense of accomplishment in teaching Mandarin and introducing Chinese culture to her students.
She looks forward to the diversity at OWIS and believes it's important to guide students to be kind in daily life and explain the value of kindness to them through examples and stories.
Grace enjoys travelling, reading, listening to music, practising yoga and scuba diving!
