Recently, some of our Secondary Grade 8 students from OWIS Nanyang participated in the Crackerjack Championship, organised by Face the Future Company (FTF). The competition promoted mental well-being, human skills and friendly competition with other international school students.

Two of our students won their respective categories and we finished second in total. A wonderful accomplishment by all our participating students!

We asked Daksh S., Anya S. and Aadi S., who represented our school, about the competition and their reflections from it. Here's what they had to say:

Daksh - "The tournament really tested your life-skills. We were each assigned to a board game challenge with four other competitors from other international schools. For me, the board game challenge was business-related. It was quite fun and it was something new, because I’ve never done something like this before. It felt good to win! I’m glad we’re able to go for these experiences again, it definitely added a bit more fun to school life."

Anya - "The competition was really enjoyable. It was a mixture of real-life thinking with a lot of fun incorporated into it. I won by a long shot, and it was really nice to win! It made me think about other educational, child-friendly, beginner-level games that help you work on your future-thinking and strategy skills."

Aadi - "In the competition, they took skills like critical thinking, communication, and creativity and they made board games that tested them. I was assigned critical thinking and it really made you think about your next move. Basically, you had to use every move to your advantage. I enjoyed the experience, because we had the ability to try different things with our classmates. We could basically play board games, which not many people have played."

Congratulations to all our students who participated. We're proud of you!
