A student-led assembly? That`s a nice change! And that`s exactly what class 5B did.
From planning to performance, the Grade 5 IBPYP students showed incredible voice, choice, and ownership, embodying the true spirit of student agency. They managed the entire assembly with confidence and teamwork, showcasing not just what they’ve learned, but how they’ve grown as independent learners.
Their highlight performance, a creative skit inspired by Animal Farm, was thoughtful and entertaining and a testament to their collaboration and self-management skills. Great job 5B!

What an amazing sight to behold as regardless of race and nationality, OWIS Newton came together to celebrate Diwali as one last Thursday.
From dance performances and rangoli decorating to trying delicious traditional treats like murukku and gulab jamun, it was simply a beautiful day of cultural sharing and community spirit.
At OWIS, we celebrate diversity not just in words, but through meaningful experiences like this — moments that bring us together and help our students appreciate the richness of cultures around them. 🌍

Last week, our campus came alive as students, parents and teachers, all dressed in colour national costumes, came to dance, make friends, chow down on amazing food and most importantly, celebrate our diversity!
And as our Head of School, Mr. Sweeney, beautifully reminded us:
“On International Day, it’s not just about learning about each other, but also what’s the same about us — what connects us, who we are, what we do. Because we are all part of OWIS. We should celebrate not only what’s different, but what’s the same.”
It was a day that perfectly captured the spirit of global citizenship, where our community celebrated cultures from around the world while recognising the shared values that unite us all.
