These last two years of secondary school are a crucial period for students as they prepare for university life. The IBDP is a valuable option that allows them to explore the subjects that interest them and establish a solid educational foundation for the future.
At OWIS, we strive to provide an educational environment that allows students to become lifelong learners, and as such, the IB DP perfectly aligns with our mission and values. The IB DP nurtures all aspects of a student’s development, and the courses are designed to support students as they grow intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially. After graduating with their IB Diploma, students are on the right path to become well-rounded, internationally-minded leaders.
Students who graduate from the IB DP at OWIS head to university with strong critical thinking, research and writing skills. With these skills, IB DP students are uniquely prepared for success not only in the university but also in a professional setting.
This course, which explores the nature of knowledge, is required for all IB DP students and culminates with an oral presentation and essay.
CAS allows students to participate in meaningful activities that encourage them to set goals, chart their progress and reflect and report on what they learned.
Per IB Diploma requirements, students complete a research project and write a 4,000-word paper. The extended essay not only enables students to investigate subjects that interest them but also prepares them for the rigours of undergraduate research as they learn how to frame a research question, support an argument and hone their communication skills.
The IB DP includes traditional subjects and affords students the possibility of learning at least two languages. Students choose courses in 6 subject groups:
As a multicultural, international school, we welcome students of all nationalities. Our academic year runs from August until late June, and students are enrolled for the IB DP from Grade 11 through to the end of Grade 12.
Our IBDP students are our student role models for the IB Learner Profile Attributes. We are firmly committed to ensuring our students flourish physically, intellectually, ethically and emotionally at OWIS.

OWIS students who enrol in the IB DP during Grades 11 and 12 will find that they realise a variety of benefits by participating in this innovative educational programme. The IB DP is respected by the top universities in Singapore and across the globe, and it uniquely prepares students for life beyond the classroom.
Some of the top benefits of the IB DP at OWIS include:
IBDP students work closely with their teachers in order to select courses from the subject groups that best meet their strengths and interests. These in-depth courses encourage students to think critically about the topics that are presented and allow students to master the subject at hand.
The courses in the IB DP are structured so that students go beyond basic memorisation of facts and data. They allow students to develop the critical thinking skills they need in order to become skilful leaders in a globally-connected world. In addition, this programme requires students to be self-motivated and self-disciplined, as they are encouraged to manage their time well and work toward their goals.
In addition to its rigorous academic curriculum, the IB DP includes a Creativity, Activity and Service component that encourages students to seek learning opportunities outside the classroom. Students learn to engage and give back to their communities while putting their leadership, team-building and collaborative skills to work.
Given the various subject groups that IB DP students study and the fact that they are required to complete other components that are not included in traditional degree programmes, IB DP graduates are highly adaptable. They are able to develop a love of learning and a sense of curiosity that will fuel them for the rest of their lives.
In many of the IB DP courses, students study the culture and nuances behind the subject at hand. This is particularly true in the language courses, where students not only learn how to use a language in a variety of contexts, but they also learn more about the cultures and traditions associated with that language.

As a sales gamification company, we were skeptical to work with a consultant to optimize our sales emails, but Salesfolk was highly recommended by many other Y-Combinator startups we knew. Salesfolk helped us run a ~6 week email campaign that brought us more leads than we had ever seen for a single effort.
