With a commitment to provide students with continuity from the Primary Years, we are extending our middle school programme year by year.The curriculum becomes more challenging with students needing to take greater responsibility for their learning, whilst the focus is on providing personalized education and care for each individual student. Small class size ensures that each student has the opportunity to take on a leadership role, discover their talents, have support for their individual needs and reach their own potential.Whilst continuing with an inquiry approach to learning, students follow the UK National Curriculum adapted for an international school context. Subjects studied include English, Mathematics, Science, Mandarin, Humanities, Physical Education (PE), Art, Music, Drama, Dance, Citizenship and Personal Social Education. (link to long term plan)
Resources are carefully selected to optimize learning. In particular, Mandarin is based on a structured programme leading towards Chinese as a Second Language IGSCE qualification and Cambridge Programme resources for Science and Maths. |
