Curriculam - Primary Years (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program-IB-PYP) Grade 1 to 6

One World International School

The Primary Years from 5-11 years old, are often the most important and most remembered years of school life. At One World International School, we believe in these formative years, it is vital to foster natural curiosity, promote confidence and an eagerness for learning.Preparatory class is the first grade (Year 1) and provides a smooth transition with the Early Childhood 2 year at One World International School. As children at this stage have gained more independence, they are usually able to communicate, focus attention for longer periods of time.  Learning becomes more formalised although still retains an element of play.As part of our Primary Years Program (PYP), all students learn through six different units of inquiry across a year which focus on different areas of learning to ensure coverage of scope and sequence throughout all subject areas .

Whilst English Language and Mathematics are often incorporated into Units of Inquiry, lessons are also taught within discrete subject units to ensure a sound progression of Mathematical and English Language skills and understanding.
