Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

One World International School

The School acknowledges the importance each child’s first language in their early development. Proficiency in their first language helps children develop a more confident self-identity and allows for closer ties and understanding of their heritage and culture. It is our endeavour to preserve this special association with their first language.

Our school will aim to support the mother tounge languages on a needs basis by readily making available resources and facilities.

Whilst we do not teach these individual languages we will facilitate them by liaising with teachers, negotiating on behalf of families to source tutors and by providing classrooms and facilities free of charge so that children can further enhance and support Languages other than English.
