The OWIS Team

One World International School offers high quality international education in a nurturing multi-cultural environment. Our students come from many countries around the world and they are confident and articulate, often speaking other languages in addition to English.

Our ethos is to deliver a highly personalised education for all students. With a high teacher-student ratio in every class, our teachers have more one-to-one time with each student to provide feedback and improve learning.

One World International School is a special place where every member of our community is valued and respected. This community is at the heart of everything we do: our cultural festivities, our celebrations, our House system and especially in all our classrooms. We understand that one of the most important aspects of learning is the relationship between the teacher and each individual student.

For international students it is important to be confident that the standards of the school are such that they compare with other similar international schools. At OWIS we undertake the International Schools’ Assessment (ISA), undertaken by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). These are external assessments that are not specific to a single curriculum but evaluate core skills, allowing schools to check the reliability of their internal assessments. From the data received from ACER and our own formative and summative testing we are confident that we are delivering a high quality curriculum in an optimum learning environment.

Classrooms

One World International School has spacious classrooms, which are well resourced for inquiry-based learning, equipped with iPads, Macbooks and interactive whiteboards.

The décor of the classrooms and modular furniture allow for a warm atmosphere designed to encourage teamwork and co-operative learning.
