The average class size is 12 students per class although currently range from 5-18 with 20 as the admission policy maximum. Our Early Childhood Centre provides a solid education in a structured play environment preparing every child for a smooth transition into the primary stage of learning. All children learn through an inquiry based curriculum and a structured programme of English and Maths with Information Technology integrated throughout the learning experience. From Grade 6 we follow a modified UK curriculum, using Cambridge Checkpoints and working towards IGSCE qualifications. We have specialist teachers in Music, PE, Dance, and Drama who teach across the school.
We have two Mandarin teachers who teach all students on a daily basis. We plan to offer the option of Spanish at Middle School level.
As a relatively small school, One World International School has excellent facilities to include extensive play areas, sports pitches, music and art/science room, extensive auditorium and library. The library is generously equipped with books, teaching resources and a shared bank of Apple Mac books. All classrooms have interactive whiteboards.
There is an opportunity for all teachers to engage annually in professional development courses as well as there being the expectation that each individual teacher also takes responsibility for their own professional learning.
